Local Veterans Remembered During The Holidays

Wreaths For Our Soldiers Joins Wreaths Across America To Honor Veterans At The La Pine Senior Activity Center, And At Over 1,200 Participating Locations In All 50 States, Puerto Rico and 24 National Cemeteries On Foreign Soil

On Saturday December 15th, 2018 members of the La Pine area community are invited to honor our veterans for the seventh year during the holiday season as part of the annual Wreaths Across America Day.

Wreaths for our Soldiers will again conduct the WAA ceremony this year at The La Pine Senior Activity Center located at 16450 Victory Way La Pine OR, on Saturday  December 15, 2018 starting at 10:00 AM. A ceremonial wreath will be placed and a memorial bell will toll to remember all soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines who served and honor their sacrifices.

The Wreaths Across AmericaTM story began in 1992 when the Worcester Wreath Company from Harrington, Maine initiated a tradition of donating and placing wreaths on the headstones of our Nation's fallen heroes at Arlington National Cemetery. Recognition of the service and sacrifice of our veterans, and their families, is especially poignant during the traditional holiday season.

In 2008, and each year since, Congress has issued a proclamation recognizing "Wreaths Across America Day" each December. This year, it will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018.
