PUBLIC TRAFFIC NOTICE: HWY. 97 CLOSED AT BNSF RAILWAY CROSSING (starting at 5:30 p.m.) 5/5/26
PUBLIC TRAFFIC NOTICE:
BNSF railway crossing closed on Highway 97 due to rail crossing guard malfunction. BNSF technicians en route for repair and expected to be on scene at 7:00 p.m. Please take alternate route on Huntington Road through La Pine to areas north and south when transiting through La Pine proper. This message will be updated as more information becomes available.
Outage to last until repairs complete on May 5th, 2026. This was an unnoticed malfunction and not a scheduled highway closure.
UPDATE: AS OF 6:30 P.M. TRAFFIC CONDITIONS ON HWY. 97 HAVE RETURNED TO FULL OPERATION.
