Wildfire (255) West of Newberry Estates - UPDATE 6:31 P.M. FIRE CONTAINED - MOVING TO MOP UP
UPDATE 6:31 P.M. 06.11.25: There was a 1.25 acre fire burning south/southeast of Rosland Rd., east of Hwy. 97. Fire response has contained the burn and and created a full perimeter around the affected area. Law enforcement reports that the incident is now moving into mop up and cleanup and the primary danger to homes east of La Pine in unincorporated Deschutes County has been averted. Law Enforcement has also reported that the confirmed cause of the blaze was a LIGHTNING STRIKE.
The La Pine community would like to thank the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office, The La Pine Rural Fire Protection District, the United States Forest Service, and all ancillary and supporting agencies for a quick and organized response to this incident which has resulted in the protection of homes and infrastructure.
