La Pine Senior Center: The Senior Center will be open on Saturday, December 8th from 5:00pm-7:00pm, with Hot Chocolate, Coffee and Hot Cider. Come and have a hot drink and watch the Light Parade and bring a canned food donation to drop off in their barrel for the Christmas Food Baskets.

 

Wreaths Across America: Ceremony to Honor those that have served will be held on Saturday, December 15th, 10:00am at the La Pine Senior Center.

Twigs Open House: Come in and Enjoy! They will have Beer Tasting complements of Sunriver Brewing Co. * Snacks provided with Mom's Strips * Enjoy music with Jim Plog. Saturday, December 15th, 12:00-3:00pm.

 

Senior Center Christmas Luncheon: Come on by the Senior Center and enjoy a great lunch, they will serving Ham, Scalloped potatoes, green bean casserole, yams, cranberry sauce, rolls & dessert. Thursday, December 20th 11:30am. Plus as a very special treat the 5th grade elementary class will be singing Christmas Carol's at 12:30. If you plan on coming please sign up at the front desk at the Senior Center, so they can get a head count.

What's Happening in

Sunriver!

23rd Annual Gingerbread Junction: Come and visit the Gingerbread Junction and marvel at the candy & cookie creations! Gingerbread houses will be on display in the Sunriver Resort Main Lodge, from December 1st thru January 1st. This event is free and open to the public.

 

Gingerbread Cookie Decorating: The Holidays aren't complete without a batch of freshly baked gingerbread cookies. Our pastry chef provides the cookies and the icing... the kids are in charge of the scrumptious decorations!!. The cost is $7 for two cookies. Located in the Abbot Room at the Main Lodge in Sunriver. December 1st thru December 22nd, 3:30-5:00pm.

Christmas Concert: Sunriver Music Festival's Christmas Concert, featuring Boogie-Woogie Painist Arthur Migliazza, Legendary pianist and musical innovator, returns to Central Oregon. Family Fun Storytime: Interactive stories, songs, rhymes and crafts. Program is welcome to ages 0-5, with an adult parent or caregiver. Thursdays, 10:30am

Storytime @ Rosland Elementary: Get ready for school with stories and fun. Free and open to the public for 0-6 year-olds. This storytime is held at Rosland Elementary School. Attendees should check-in at the front desk, and go to the school library. Friday, November 30th, 9:05am

 

"Library of Things" comes to La Pine Library: Would you like to try your hand at knitting? Or see what this whole InstantPot thing is about? Maybe you'd like to give a GoPro a whirl. With Deschutes Public Library's new Library of Things you can check out more than books. These kits are a great way for customers to try something new, but not quite ready to purchase yet. This new program will be coming to the La Pine Library on December 5th.

 

Cookie Decorating Party: Decorate seasonal cookies, snowflake face painting, and crafts. Ages 0-11, no registration necessary. Saturday, December 8th, 11:00am.

 

Decorate Gingerbread Houses: We provide the gingerbread & decorations, you provide the creativity! This is an Adult program, 18 years +. Registration Required. Saturday, December 8th, 1:00.

 

DIY Ugly Sweaters: We provide the sweater & decorations, you provide the creativity! Ages 10-17, Registration Required. Saturday, December 8th, 2:00pm.

 

Holiday Ukulele Performance: Enjoy traditional ukulele songs, holiday carols & fun classics, performed by the High Country Ukulele Players and the Bend Ukulele Group. No Registration Required! Saturday, December 8th, 2:00pm.

Gift Giving for All Ages! The La Pine Community Kitchen is having a gift giving for all ages for those from 1 to 92. Please donate an unwrapped gift for children and adults of all ages. They will collecting until Monday, December 17th, donation hours are 11:30-2:00, Mon.-Fri. They will also be serving Christmas Dinner, Friday, December 21st, 12:00-2:00pm

 

Be a Santa to a Senior: Stop by these locations, Ace Hardware * Heart n' Home * or La Pine Community Health Center. Select a bulb from the tree, purchase the items on the list, then take the bulb & your unwrapped gifts back to where you picked up your bulb. Volunteers will wrap & deliver the gifts. Last day for collections is December 9th. So lets all help make a Merry Christmas for all the Seniors on these trees.

Christmas Basket Donations: You can now drop off all Non-Perishable food items at the Chamber of Commerce of donations for the Christmas Food Baskets 10:00am-2:00pm. If you have any questions please call 541-536-9771. Last day to turn in applications for the Christmas Baskets and Toys for Tots is Friday, November 30th.

 

Purses with a Purpose: Bring in your donations of Gently Used Purses, stocked with either feminine hygiene and toiletry items or baby diapers and baby hygiene items also include a supportive note of encouragement in your purse. Nothing makes a woman feel more appreciated than a nice purse full of necessities she can't afford to buy herself.
