Mayor and City Council Positions Up For Election
The following positions with the La Pine City Council are up for election: Mayor and two (2) City Councilors. To become a candidate, you must have resided within city limits for at least one year immediately before his or her election and also be a registered voter. A candidate may run for only one City office to be voted on at the same election. If you meet these requirements and are interested in running, you may begin the process by picking up an application packet at City Hall. You must run in the November election to become a Councilor or Mayor. Term lengths are two (2) years for Mayor and four (4) years for a City Councilor. Meetings are held twice a month and the Mayor and City Councilors also serve on various sub-committees and regional groups. This is a volunteer position. If you have any questions, please contact City Hall at (541) 536-1432. The deadline to submited a completed application is August 28, 2018. Candidate Signature Forms must be submitted to the Deschutes County Clerk's office no later than August 17, 2018, for verification.
