Why La Pine / Sunriver?

Project Ready Industrial-Property

La Pine boasts a large (330 acre) publicly owned Industrial and Business Park. Land parcels in the Park range in size from 1/4 acre to 40 acres and are shovel-ready for building complete with in-place curbside water, sewer, and power. The park is home to a Midstate Electric Cooperative Substation with some of the lowest industrial power rates in Oregon. Currently, there are no transportation or Park & Recreation system development charges.

Qualified Regional Workforce

As part of the Bend-Redmond MSA, La Pine is an ACT Work Ready community with work force approaching 90,000. Central Oregon Community College and Oregon State University Cascades offer degree programs in Computer Science, Energy Systems Engineering, Hospitality Management, Tourism and Outdoor Leadership, Aviation Unmanned Aerial Systems, and Manufacturing Technology.

Business Incentives

La Pine’s Finley Butte Industrial Park is located in the Deschutes County Rural Enterprise Zone. In exchange for locating or expanding into any enterprise zone, eligible businesses may receive a full exemption from the property taxes normally assessed on new plant and equipment for up to 15 years.

La Pine parallels U.S. Highway 97, which stretches from California to the Canadian border, connecting with I-5 in northern California, I-84 in northern Oregon, and I-90 in central Washington.

In addition to ten area motor freight companies that provide daily service to Portland, the Finley Butte Industrial Park is bisected by BNSF mainline with BNSF and Union Pacific (UP) service.

Redmond Municipal Airport (RDM) is forty-five minutes from La Pine and provides direct commercial air service to Portland, Seattle, Denver, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and San Francisco.  RDM also provides cargo service and general aviation services.

The Sunriver Resort Airport is a general aviation airport located 20 miles from Finley Butte Industrial Park in La Pine. With a recently upgraded and refinished 5,500 foot long paved and lighted airstrip, the Resort airport is the third busiest in the state and is one of the longest private airstrips in the West. The airport serves a wide range of aircraft from small private planes to corporate jets.
