Mayor and Council

Mayor Richer has lived in Central Oregon since 1970 and has resided in La Pine since 2005. He attended Bend Senior High school and USMC Communication School in 29 Palms California. He has served in local government since 1999. He is married with two adult children.

Councilor Courtney Ignazzitto

Councilor Ignazzitto has lived in La Pine since 2015 with her husband Scott and two dogs. She is currently employed at La Pine Community Health Center as Executive Assistant and Public Relations Specialist.

She attended Weatherford College in Weatherford, TX majoring in General Studies and Communication. 

She serves on the worship team and youth leadership team at High Lakes Christian Church. She also enjoys exploring the great outdoors with her husband, including fishing, hiking and camping. 

Councilor Van Damme has lived in La Pine since 2015 with her husband Steve of 47 years. She retired from the field of education and has three married daughters and three grandchildren.

She has participated in Educational Transportation Safety/Training, SAIF Workplace Safety Training, & National Purchasing/Training Procurement Card Training. 

Councilor Colleen Scott has lived in La Pine for the past 8 years and is retired from Jurupa USD in Riverside California as the Assistant to the Superintendant & United Way of the Inland Valleys, as a Co-Officer. 

She graduated from Riverside Community College with a degree in Liberal Arts. 

She has 7 children and 11 grandchildren and enjoys hiking, kayaking, and pickleball.

Councilor Mike Shields was born and raised in La Pine and has lived in the area ever since. He is the owner of La Pine Equipment which provides contracting, and road building/maintenance services throughout the south county and greater La Pine communities.
