07/13/21 Darlene Fire Information - Updated

07/13/2021 4:15 p.m. 

There is a 40-acre wildfire moving south-south east, south of Finley Butte, and east of Darlene Way outside of La Pine City limits. This current direction of the burn can change rapidly with any shift in wind direction and speed. Please monitor evacuation information at the following site:

Multiple agencies have responded and air tankers have been deployed.

Update 8:52 p.m. - The fire has now grown to 700 acres but it has been kept east of Darlene Way and north of Hwy. 31. Fire crews will be working throughout the evening to line the fire with the assistance of six bulldozers.

The La Pine Middle School has been set up as a temporary evacuation point, with food, water, and blankets while the La Pine Rodeo Grounds is accepting animals that need a place to stay. This post will be updated as new information becomes available. 

Update 07/14/2021 1:41 p.m.

The La Pine area is under a red flag warning with winds forecasted to pick up out of the west and northwest throughout the day, peaking at an estimated 13 mph between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. Residents in the southeast portion of the city should monitor the link above for any new evacuation notices as the Darlene fire continues and crews work to contain it. The fire has now been officially mapped at 588 acres, and so far three homes, and twelve other structures have been lost outside of City limits.  A fire line has also been established around the blaze and multiple agencies continue containment efforts.
